I’m coming out. No, not as gay, lesbian, bisexual, or as a witch, well actually yes, as a witch, but not the Wicca kind. I’ve always pronounced myself as a Ravenclaw. It does fit me, but since I’ve been reading the books, and looking more into the different houses I realized. I am more of a Hufflepuff then a Ravenclaw. When I originally found this out I denied it. This was when I was in the first book, and thought of Hufflepuffs as the rejects. Now that I am getting into the 2nd half of the 4th book I have realized that the sorting hat would of chosen me as a Hufflepuff. Sorry M and Liz, but I’m leaving your house and joining Michelle. I mean, it’s not YOUR house, like you own it, but the house you take residence in, in the world of Harry Potter. Can we at least still talk in the entry hall?

Sorry for such a short post, but I’m just having trouble blogging. Several times I have considered just quitting. I don’t find the same joy in it as I used too. That long break was a mistake. I’m not going to delete this little blog here, but will probably post less, hopefully I can aim for once a week.

Commenter of the day:
Cocoa, who is a night owl like me (:

Question of the day:
Can’t you guess?
(what house are you in?)

Sorry I know it’s a boring question, and I know most of your answers, but it is what fit’s the post best

-The road to success is always under construction.

I’m a night owl, and I’m not just one of those teenagers who stay up late and just says they are. I really am. How do I know this? I will refer to a post my friend Michelle posted awhile ago. She talked about how she is a morning bird, and the morning just rejuvenates her. I’m the same way, just with night. To take a walk at night all alone for me is just the best. The night air, with still a hint of humidity, but cool enough to not be uncomfortable. I mean, I have been outside early in the morning, I mean who hasn’t had to bike to school before the sun rises? Okay well maybe those of you who live more than 2 miles from your school, but then at the least walked to the bus stop? Okay, got a few more of you on board with that one.

I have to interrupt this blog my telling you that today is Grissom’s birthday. He is now 2 years old. I am now sitting outside, and he crawled under my perched legs and then jumped up onto the patio furniture and is now giving himself a bath next to me. I need to capture this moment, YES, PICTURE TIME!!
Picture 414
Yes, we are kissing. I forgot to give him his birthday kiss earlier. I’m also sorry for the HORRIBLE lighting, but hey, I’m outside, and it’s 11 o’clock at night, what do you expect.

Okay, now back to the night owl stuff. Okay, sorry Grissom distracted me. I have nothing. Well hey, it’s a post, right? Better than nothing?

Commenter of the day:
Michelle, for her nerdyness

Question of the day:
Are you a morning owl, or a night owl?

Grissom is now sitting on the chair opposite me cleaning his toes. I can just see his eyes and his white body parts, it’s so cute! ^.^

Okay, now I’ve played “Party in the USA” By Miley Cyrus 10 times since I downloaded it a few hours ago, guilty pleasure much?

Sorry for the scatterbrain-ness!

I’m so lucky to have a stress reliever like this blog! I have found the hardest work of having a blog is starting. To get that thought process going, and to open something to type it in, and then just letting the words flow is easy. Except when I get to this point. Where I don’t know where to go. Then the trick is to just keep going. Keep typing, even if it’s nonsense. I’ve noticed the ones I get the most comments on are the ones that are just senseless rambles. THEN, SOMEONE SENDS ME AN INSTANT MESSAGE *cough*Marissa*cough* and makes me lose my thought process. Did I really need to know your money status on farm town, IN THE MIDDLE OF WRITING A BLOG!?! It’s all right, you don’t know I’m writing a blog, and I love your love of farm town. I’m glad that you have spare money! Now don’t spend it all in one place.

See, I just got distracted. This blog is not going very well. Now that I said that all my comments will be, “oh marina I loved this post,” or something of that manner! But then again the sense less ones are usually rid of sense, and this one makes sense. It’s a blog about blogging. That makes sense, doesn’t it?

Mostly because of her blissful ignorance of thinking Grissom was BITING his girlfriend! She has obviously never seen a cat kiss!

What brings you back to this blog?
What makes you type in address to see if there is a new post?
(or add me to your google reader ;))

I KEEP COMING BACK BECAUSE IT’S MY BLOG! And if I ditched myself…. That would be horrible.

When I hang my head over the couch, Mr. G decides it is time for some lovin and rubs against my hand. I think it is one of the cutest things he could do. Other than when he was a kitten and had a girlfriend. I think I will post picture of his girlfriend here
Yes, that is one of those cute little beanie babies we used to all know and love. Back in the 90’s. I miss the 90’s. I miss my childhood.
little me
That is me at a young age, if you didn’t guess
Has anyone ever seen one of those Myspace bulletins or Facebook notes of, “You know you’re a 90‘s kid if:” and there was a huge list of cartoons, and toys, and phrases from the 90’s. I think I will now reference to that for the rest of this post.

I will bold the ones I remember, and maybe I will give some commentary on some 😉

You’re a 90’s kid if:

You’ve ever ended a sentence with the word “PSYCHE!”

You can sing the rap to “The Fresh Prince Of Bel Air”
I didn’t actually know this in the 90’s but learned it this year =]

You remember when Kurt Cobain, Tu Pac, River Phoenix, and Selena died.

You know that “WOAH” comes from Joey from “Blossom” and that “How Rude!” comes from Stephanie from “Full House”
Full House was my addiction. I have seen every episode 3 times or more

You remember when it was actually worth getting up early
on a Saturday to watch cartoons.

You got super excited when it was Oregon Trail day in computer class at school.

You remember reading “Goosebumps”
I never got to much into it, just read one or two, but I had friends who where more obsessed. I was more into the Choose your own adventure and Choose your own nightmare

You know the profound meaning of “Wax on, wax off”

You have pondered why Smurfette was the only female smurf.

You took plastic cartoon lunch boxes to school.
I had this ridiculously small bugs bunny one, that hardly could hold half a sandwich, but I thought it was so cool I didn’t care

You danced to “Wannabe” by the Spice Girls, Females: had a new motto, Males: got a whole lot gay-er. (so tell me what you want, what you really really want.)

You remember the craze, then the banning of slap bracelets and slam books.
I also remember making my own out of those metal tape measurers

You still get the urge to say “NOT” after (almost) every sentence…Not…

Where in the world is Carmen San Diego? was both a game and a TV game show.

Captain Planet.

You knew that Kimberly, the pink ranger, and Tommy, the green Ranger were meant to be together.

When playing power rangers with friends you fought over who got to be who…………and still all ended up being Tommy.

You remember when Super Nintendo’s became popular.

You remember watching home alone 1, 2 , and 3……..and tried to pull the pranks on “intruders”
Well I wouldn’t pull them on intruders, just my mom (:

“I’ve fallen and I can’t get up”

You remember going to the skating rink before there were inline skates

Two words… Trapper Keeper.
well that was more a 5th, 6th grade thing

You never got injured on a Slip ‘n’ Slide

You wore socks over leggings scrunched down

“Miss Mary Mack, Mack, Mack, all dressed in black, black, black, with silver buttons, buttons, buttons, all down her back, back, back” SHE ASKED HER MOTHER MOTHER MOTHER FOR FIFTY CENTS CENTS CENTS TO SEE THE ELEPHANTS PHANTS PHANTS JUMP OVER THE FENCE THE FENCE THE FENCE
he jumped so high high high he touched the sky sky sky and he didnt come back back back til the forth of july ly ly he jumped so low ow ow he stubbed his toe toe toe and thats the end end end of the elephants show show show

You remember boom boxes vs. cd players

You remember New Kids on The Block when they were cool

You knew all the characters names and their life stories on “Saved By The Bell”

You played and/or collected “Pogs”

You had at least one Tamagotchi, GigaPet or Nano and brought it everywhere
The original versions where a million times better than the “connect” versions

You watched the original Care Bears, My Little Pony, and Ninja Turtles

Yikes pencils and erasers were the stuff!
And I loved the smell, even though now I know that the smell is horrible

All your school supplies were “Lisa Frank” brand.(pencils.notebooks.binders.etc.)
I still have a lisa frank binder in my bedroom 😀

You used to wear those stick on earings, not only on your ears, but at the corners of your eyes.

You remember a time before the WB.

You’ve gotten creeped out by “Are You Afraid of the Dark?”
I love watching old episodes on you tube!

You know the Macarena by heart.

“Talk to the hand” … enough said

You thought Brain would finally take over the world
THAT SHOW WAS THE BOMB! It’s Pinky and the Brain Brain Brain BRAIN!

You always said, “Then why don’t you marry it!”

You remember when everyone went slinky crazy.
I still remember the smell of my Grandma’s musty basement from pushing them down her steps

You remember when razor scooters were cool.
When did they stop being cool? 😉

I hope you enjoyed this post as much as I enjoyed the trip down memory lane! I did cut out a lot at the end so if you want more make sure to check out the link I posted towards the top!

Who thinks I am hiding something magical!

What is your favorite 90’s memory?
Mine would have to be just being a kid and not worrying about fitting in and boys and making friends by saying hi, and that was just enough.

Okay first thing’s first. I want to clear up something that I don’t think was clear on yesterday’s post. I enjoy comparing the book to the movie. How about I explain my process, with an example, Twilight. I’m only picking this one because it is the most explainable one for me. When I see the movie the first time (especially when it’s at the theater) I have no expectations what so ever. That way I can enjoy the movie, for the movie. Then I watch the movie again with the intents to pick it apart, to see why they did what they did, and how they changed it, what scenes where added/deleted, and things like that. Now I did not do that with the first two Harry Potter movies after reading them, since I own both of those movies and have already seen them as the movie, separate for the book. Once it gets to the fourth movie, which I have not seen, then I will use my 2 view process. I suggest if you are watching a movie based off a book that you really enjoy, don’t try and tear it apart the first time you see it. It will ruin the viewing experience for you, and you will always see the movie as a bad rip off of the book. My mom was telling me about a class she took in college. It was from book to movie. They would read the book, then watch the movie in class, and would have to pull the movie apart and analyze it. The only one she remembers doing is To Kill A Mocking Bird.

I would like to move to the topic of school required reading. I’m sure we all have had the required amount of time to read in early elementary school. Which I think is great. In 6th grade we had two required readings. The first time we had to pick something within our lexile range (determined by the MAP test.) I picked Animal Farm, which is a very deep book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and suggest it to anyone who is interested in politics and animals, and pigs who take over. Also keep in mind if you read it, that it is required reading for a large amount of college classes, so if you are against re-reading books, you may want to wait. The second required reading was an assigned book. Now she didn’t make us all read one book, but had about 8 different books and assigned them to different leveled kids. I had received The Diary of Anne Frank. Now when receiving this, I was very happy. I had always enjoyed Anne Frank, and had not had a chance to read her diary yet. Now keep in mind that book is quite thick, with small writing. Now another book she gave out to lower leveled kids, had 80 pages in it. These where not the dyslexic, or learning handicapped ones in the class, just people who had a lower lexile range. Now we had to read these books in the same amount of time the other students had to read theirs. Now this class is the only time I have ever received detention, because I would fall to far behind. I do not think that this was a very fair assignment.

Now to fast forward to eighth grade. I really enjoyed this year in English. The fall musical/spring play director teaches it, and he is one of my favorite adult people. I also must mention that I was in the accelerated course, and these books where not expected to be read by the majority of my grade. I really enjoyed both of these books, and would periodically spend time out of class to read ahead. For those of you curious in what books these where, they where; And Then There Where None, and The Adventures of Charlotte Doyle. We also read The Merchant of Venice.

One more fast forward to ninth grade. The books that where required reading where; Romeo and Juliet, The Christmas Carol, and The Miracle Worker. Overall I enjoyed Romeo and Juliet and The Miracle Worker, but I did not enjoy The Christmas Carol. I had a very hard time following Dicken’s writing style. It was to descriptive for me, and just felt to drawn out.

Commenter of the day:
Which a difference she noticed from book to movie was: In the 1st book, they left out the MIDNIGHT DUEL. Which was practical, of course, as it wasn’t a real significant part but I always remembered that. They also left out Dudley’s friend Piers, but again, he isn’t beneficial to the story. For the most part, I trust the movies, you know?

Question of the day:
What have you had as required reading that you have enjoyed?

-The road to success is always under construction.

Readers! You shall be excited, for I have a extra special surprise for you! Now, I know you’re all jumping with joy and shouting at the top of your lungs saying, “WHAT IS IT, OH BELOVED BLOGGER?!?” Which to I answer, I’m not telling you. Hehe, I’m so evil. Okay, I’m not evil, but I do like to put people in suspense, guessing that people enjoy my blog enough to get in suspense about something that has to do with it.

This special little extra special surprise will be revealed on August 28th. Although there will be clues throughout the time between now and then to what that surprise is! I may have even hidden some in blog posts previous to this one, so go on, try and figure it out. I know you want too!

Okay now to an actual blog, type blog. The problem? I don’t really know what to say. No not blogger’s block, but more…. Idea block. If that makes sense.

How about a new little segment called, My Road’s book club? It may just be a one time thing, or it may be reoccurring, remember it’s me we are talking about, nothing is guaranteed (other than question and commenter of the day.)

Now I’m reading Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban. With my whole being busy thing I haven’t been reading it at the speed of the first two, but I’m still enjoying it at a pace that fits me. I’m only around 100 pages in, if that.

I’m really into comparing books, and the movies based off them. The movies are always disappointing, sorry to say, but most of the time there is a reason it is changed. The reason, to be truthful, is always the same, it’s to make it better in the box office. Now, believe it or not, there are people who go to a movie based off a book, even though they haven’t read the book. :O Shocking as it may be, the directors and screen writers need to attract to that audience, along with the critics. For example, in Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, in the book the snake is 20 feet long. While a snake 20 feet long would scare just about anyone (other than Tom Riddle) out of their socks, it isn’t enough for the box office. They then tripled the length of the snake, for the big bucks. One change in the movie series I don’t get is why Peeves was cut out. I love Peeves! I think that some people would come to the movie just for him, doubtful, but possible. Does anyone see any reason for the cutting of Peeves? Does he really take up that much room in the movie that his scenes are too long? There are some things purely cut out for length, like some things that take several days to occur, in the movie it appears to happen in 1 night, with everything in between used for suspense, is cut out.

Commenter of the day:
Who worries about disappointing people.

Question of the day:
What are differences you have noticed from book to movie?

-The road to success is always under construction

p.s. Marissa, I miss your comments! ):

I have this problem. Whenever I have to bike to an event or class or something that starts at a specific time, I freak out. I’m always worried that I’m going to be late. I then leave a ridiculously early time, and bike there as fast as possible, worrying I’m going to be late or I got the time wrong. Then once I get there I feel stupid for being a half hour early and being the only one there. It also bothers me when people are late. I just freaked out over getting there on time and then they prance in 5 minutes late without a fret.

I could fix this problem with a watch. The thing is that I don’t like watches. They constrict time. It’s more fun to run around without a worry in the world, then to run around without a worry in the world, minus the fact that it is now 7:28 pm. Also, when I have had a watch in the past I never take it off. Then I go through them very fast when I jump in the pool with them, or break them on my bike. Another problem with watches is that if I could I would look at the time every 3rd second. That makes time go by very slow, or shows you how much time has past. When I see that in the time it usually takes me to look at the time 10 times, I have only looked. I then miss that time and regret letting it fly by. Obviously a watch is not a solution for this problem.

I also like to carry around my phone, seeing then I can look at the time when I freak out. A lot of the clothes I have don’t have pockets, so I can not have a phone with me. Not to mention that when I do have the time my worry is that I have the time I’m supposed to be there mixed up. Even if I’m at home waiting for someone to pick me up. I start worrying I got the time they where picking me up, even when they are 30 seconds late. Or if they got the time they where supposed to pick me up was wrong.

I’m kind of making me sound like I am a worry wart. Well I really am not, I’m just one when it comes to time. Well and when it comes to tripping, falling, crowds, flying bugs, and what if’s. Does that make me a worry wart? It could be worse, couldn’t it.

I’m not overly self conscious. Which is something I have been working on for a large part of my life. Okay that’s a lie, I’ve only been working on it for a year and a half. I used to have really good self confidence in most of 7th grade and before that. Then I got in a huge fight with a friend that lasted over a year. She totally destroyed all confidence I had in myself. It’s only been since May that I have been feeling self confident, enough that the only time I worry about how I look is in private.

Commenter of the day:
She has a Fran from the Nanny shrine in her room! I found that so original!

Question of the day:
What do you worry about?

-The road to success is always under construction.

P.s. It says the above quote exactly word for word in my driver’s ed room, is that a pwn, or a pwn?

Tomorrow I have my first day of Driver’s Education. I’m actually excited, even though I’ve heard several horror stories of just how boring it is. Even if it is Boring, it will still be Driver’s Education. In my state you can take Driver’s Ed at 15 and take the driver’s permit test once passing the class. I’m 16, which is the age where most kids take their driver’s test, and get their license. So yes I am a little behind. Also I should add that most of the people I have heard from that it is boring also find almost all of their classes boring. One thing that I’m not looking forward with it is that there will be mostly the grade under me and my grade in the class. If I would of taken it this time last year it would have been mostly the grade above me, which I would prefer. But it’s not last year, I will have to live with it.

The class is 2 weeks long 9am-12pm Monday-Thursday, Friday being the makeup day. My friend Beatrice who is also 16 and the grade above me is also enrolled in the class. The worst part of that is that the seating arrangement is alphabetical. With my last name starting with an L and her last name with a W, we will not be seated next to each other. 😦

So as many of you know I still have my kitty Grissom with me. If you go back to this post you will see that he was going to be given up. It has been over a month and he is still here. I’m hoping that my mom has just procrastinated to the point that it is just not going to happen.

Grissom :D

In other pet related news, my mom has laid down the law that no snakes will be entering this house on purpose. She did however say she would be fine with a lizard. Right now I am looking at Geckos. I’d like a Blue Tongue Skink, but we don’t have room for a 40 gallon tank, believe it or not. I’m really excited about this Gecko business! I am saving up my money (yes again) so I can buy a tank for it, since our 10 gallon tank won’t cut it. I also will need a good chunk of money for the Gecko, tank accessories, and heating accessories. Not to mention crickets to feed it, and money to buy crickets for awhile after buying it.

If you could take a road trip to any place in the country with no worry of paying for gas or having a vehicle/license, where would you go?

I would go to the state in which Nora and Marissa reside in to pick them up, then Washington and then too California, then back to Nora and Marissa’s state to drop them back off, and back home!

Commenter of the day for my last post is Michelle who’s answer to the question: “What is your dream number of kids/order/gender?” was “I think when I settle down, I’d like to have 3-4 kids. I know I want at least one boy and one girl. Possibly 2 of each.”

-the road to success is always under construction

p.s. No punishment for last post for having no featured commenter for 2 reasons.

 A) No one caught it XD

 B) No one answered the question other than Marissa who had one the day before.

AHH! This is the last post I will have until next Friday or Saturday! Sadface 😦
BUTT!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hopefully next time I will be on my computer I am getting on Friday! YAY! You can all clap and cheer as you wish!

Tomorrow I am heading out on an epic camping trip with my mother. We’re going to go fishing and it’s just going to be epic and amazing and GAH! That is why I won’t be able to post for awhile! But when I come back it will be epic and great, and will blow your brains out! Okay don’t let it do that, since then all my viewers will be dead and the blog will soon after die! Which isn’t good, believe it or not.

This post = fail. I’m sorry. I just wanted to let you know I will be gone! But when I come back epicness will be here! Why not a picture? Yes a picture! How about me being the world’s sexiest maid?

Epic, huh?

Nora from junkinmahcranium is the featured commenter from last time! It was quite deep, even though I don’t have it memorized to type here! Go check that Blonde gangster!

AND TODAY’S QUESTION (drum roll please)
What is your favorite old cartoon from the ’90’s to early 2000’s?

Mine would probably be Doug. He was amazing! With his crush Phoebe! I love that name

Answer with your answer in the comments yo!

p.s. Sorry you’ll only understand the salutation if you where in Beauty and the Beast with me, and none of you where, sorry 😦

Hey ya!

What be happening home dog? I really want to start this post off on the right page, and I think this is a good way to start it:

marina says (8:03 PM):
Random question of the day: If you could say anything to the world, what would you say?
M iz still cool, yo! says (8:03 PM):
“Don’t forget to be awesome.”

From now on, when I post a blog, I will have a random question of the day! Are you excited? I’m stoked! I will also answer this question. YAY FOR ADDING DEPTH TO THIS BLOG YO!!

This blog is so deep, isn’t it? I mean one minute I have you in tears and the next one I have you shizzing your pants with laughter.
Okay sorry that is a lie. If everything was rated from 1-5 feet deep instead of 1-5 stars my blog would probably have a 11 inches deepness rating. Sorry Kiddos, you know it’s true. Okay I know that’s a lie, I am in deed quite proud of this blog. But wouldn’t it be kind of somewhat awesome if serious things where rated in feet of deepness instead of stars? Stars are just so… universal. (pun intended)

Okay sorry, it’s already in this blog,
If you could say anything to the world right now, what would you say?

My answer was: Don’t forget to eat your cereal kiddos!

Now if I actually where to have the chance too say anything to the world, I would think of something more serious, but serious is not something provided here at my road. Yeah it is. I ‘ve had lots and tons of serious posts. Sushi up! Gah Okay, sorry your royal beastlyness.

SO OF COURSE!!!! The question of the day is also meant to be aimed at you commenters to be more involved! So INVOLVE YOUR SELF! Answer the question! If people like this enough I will also feature* a commenter’s answer on the next blog post! Are you stoked? I’m stoked

Okay, Love ya, Bye-Bye

p.s. I’m going to be on the Minnesota channel four WCCO news for my birthday tomorrow morning at around 6:30, so If you want, go and check that out. I will also give those who request it a link to it once it is posted on their website.
