I’m so lucky to have a stress reliever like this blog! I have found the hardest work of having a blog is starting. To get that thought process going, and to open something to type it in, and then just letting the words flow is easy. Except when I get to this point. Where I don’t know where to go. Then the trick is to just keep going. Keep typing, even if it’s nonsense. I’ve noticed the ones I get the most comments on are the ones that are just senseless rambles. THEN, SOMEONE SENDS ME AN INSTANT MESSAGE *cough*Marissa*cough* and makes me lose my thought process. Did I really need to know your money status on farm town, IN THE MIDDLE OF WRITING A BLOG!?! It’s all right, you don’t know I’m writing a blog, and I love your love of farm town. I’m glad that you have spare money! Now don’t spend it all in one place.

See, I just got distracted. This blog is not going very well. Now that I said that all my comments will be, “oh marina I loved this post,” or something of that manner! But then again the sense less ones are usually rid of sense, and this one makes sense. It’s a blog about blogging. That makes sense, doesn’t it?

Mostly because of her blissful ignorance of thinking Grissom was BITING his girlfriend! She has obviously never seen a cat kiss!

What brings you back to this blog?
What makes you type in address to see if there is a new post?
(or add me to your google reader ;))

I KEEP COMING BACK BECAUSE IT’S MY BLOG! And if I ditched myself…. That would be horrible.

Okay first thing’s first. I want to clear up something that I don’t think was clear on yesterday’s post. I enjoy comparing the book to the movie. How about I explain my process, with an example, Twilight. I’m only picking this one because it is the most explainable one for me. When I see the movie the first time (especially when it’s at the theater) I have no expectations what so ever. That way I can enjoy the movie, for the movie. Then I watch the movie again with the intents to pick it apart, to see why they did what they did, and how they changed it, what scenes where added/deleted, and things like that. Now I did not do that with the first two Harry Potter movies after reading them, since I own both of those movies and have already seen them as the movie, separate for the book. Once it gets to the fourth movie, which I have not seen, then I will use my 2 view process. I suggest if you are watching a movie based off a book that you really enjoy, don’t try and tear it apart the first time you see it. It will ruin the viewing experience for you, and you will always see the movie as a bad rip off of the book. My mom was telling me about a class she took in college. It was from book to movie. They would read the book, then watch the movie in class, and would have to pull the movie apart and analyze it. The only one she remembers doing is To Kill A Mocking Bird.

I would like to move to the topic of school required reading. I’m sure we all have had the required amount of time to read in early elementary school. Which I think is great. In 6th grade we had two required readings. The first time we had to pick something within our lexile range (determined by the MAP test.) I picked Animal Farm, which is a very deep book. I thoroughly enjoyed it, and suggest it to anyone who is interested in politics and animals, and pigs who take over. Also keep in mind if you read it, that it is required reading for a large amount of college classes, so if you are against re-reading books, you may want to wait. The second required reading was an assigned book. Now she didn’t make us all read one book, but had about 8 different books and assigned them to different leveled kids. I had received The Diary of Anne Frank. Now when receiving this, I was very happy. I had always enjoyed Anne Frank, and had not had a chance to read her diary yet. Now keep in mind that book is quite thick, with small writing. Now another book she gave out to lower leveled kids, had 80 pages in it. These where not the dyslexic, or learning handicapped ones in the class, just people who had a lower lexile range. Now we had to read these books in the same amount of time the other students had to read theirs. Now this class is the only time I have ever received detention, because I would fall to far behind. I do not think that this was a very fair assignment.

Now to fast forward to eighth grade. I really enjoyed this year in English. The fall musical/spring play director teaches it, and he is one of my favorite adult people. I also must mention that I was in the accelerated course, and these books where not expected to be read by the majority of my grade. I really enjoyed both of these books, and would periodically spend time out of class to read ahead. For those of you curious in what books these where, they where; And Then There Where None, and The Adventures of Charlotte Doyle. We also read The Merchant of Venice.

One more fast forward to ninth grade. The books that where required reading where; Romeo and Juliet, The Christmas Carol, and The Miracle Worker. Overall I enjoyed Romeo and Juliet and The Miracle Worker, but I did not enjoy The Christmas Carol. I had a very hard time following Dicken’s writing style. It was to descriptive for me, and just felt to drawn out.

Commenter of the day:
Which a difference she noticed from book to movie was: In the 1st book, they left out the MIDNIGHT DUEL. Which was practical, of course, as it wasn’t a real significant part but I always remembered that. They also left out Dudley’s friend Piers, but again, he isn’t beneficial to the story. For the most part, I trust the movies, you know?

Question of the day:
What have you had as required reading that you have enjoyed?

Tomorrow I have my first day of Driver’s Education. I’m actually excited, even though I’ve heard several horror stories of just how boring it is. Even if it is Boring, it will still be Driver’s Education. In my state you can take Driver’s Ed at 15 and take the driver’s permit test once passing the class. I’m 16, which is the age where most kids take their driver’s test, and get their license. So yes I am a little behind. Also I should add that most of the people I have heard from that it is boring also find almost all of their classes boring. One thing that I’m not looking forward with it is that there will be mostly the grade under me and my grade in the class. If I would of taken it this time last year it would have been mostly the grade above me, which I would prefer. But it’s not last year, I will have to live with it.

The class is 2 weeks long 9am-12pm Monday-Thursday, Friday being the makeup day. My friend Beatrice who is also 16 and the grade above me is also enrolled in the class. The worst part of that is that the seating arrangement is alphabetical. With my last name starting with an L and her last name with a W, we will not be seated next to each other. 😦

So as many of you know I still have my kitty Grissom with me. If you go back to this post you will see that he was going to be given up. It has been over a month and he is still here. I’m hoping that my mom has just procrastinated to the point that it is just not going to happen.

Grissom :D

In other pet related news, my mom has laid down the law that no snakes will be entering this house on purpose. She did however say she would be fine with a lizard. Right now I am looking at Geckos. I’d like a Blue Tongue Skink, but we don’t have room for a 40 gallon tank, believe it or not. I’m really excited about this Gecko business! I am saving up my money (yes again) so I can buy a tank for it, since our 10 gallon tank won’t cut it. I also will need a good chunk of money for the Gecko, tank accessories, and heating accessories. Not to mention crickets to feed it, and money to buy crickets for awhile after buying it.

If you could take a road trip to any place in the country with no worry of paying for gas or having a vehicle/license, where would you go?

I would go to the state in which Nora and Marissa reside in to pick them up, then Washington and then too California, then back to Nora and Marissa’s state to drop them back off, and back home!

Commenter of the day for my last post is Michelle who’s answer to the question: “What is your dream number of kids/order/gender?” was “I think when I settle down, I’d like to have 3-4 kids. I know I want at least one boy and one girl. Possibly 2 of each.”

p.s. No punishment for last post for having no featured commenter for 2 reasons.

 A) No one caught it XD

 B) No one answered the question other than Marissa who had one the day before.

The first punishment. Here is a picture I took of the drawing:

You won’t believe how relieved I was, seeing the only other one was running around outside with under wear on my head, and my neighbors are all outside. So now I get to write about M.

Marissa and me met through Nora. I found Nora on youtube, and we became friends, then I saw she would hang around with this crazy girl, and I thought she was pretty cool, so I added her on facebook, and then the worlded exploded with awesomeness.

Marissa is Miss. Tuesday on thesexymacaroni. Her videos are all pretty humorous, and so are the rest of the sexy elbow noodles, so go subscribe now.

Marissa is a computer genious. She is the one who taught me how to zip and unzip files. She also helped me get back all of the music I lost on itunes.

Marissa loves this band called Owl City. She loves all music. Well she loves everything, other than feet. I wonder if I drew a snake on my foot if she would love my foot. Marissa, can you give us your input on that? k, thanks!

Marissa is in this wonderful thing called nerdfighterlike with this boy she met on the ning. His name is Zach. He has a yahoo, and that is just about all I know about him other than he has black curly hair. This blog is not about this Zach character, but about Marissa.

Marissa and I have these epic late night msn convos. Half the time her side of the conversation is in captital letters, and is plainly awesome. We talk about everything from her parents, to her love of creatures, to wrock, to vegetarianism, and everything beyond and between those. We also talk about Degrassi: The Next Generation alot. Those conversations are very entertaining on my side because I useally know what is going to happen, and she doesn’t, and she freaks out. Then I get confused because her reaction is histerical and yet I’m like OH NO THIS HORRIBLE THING JUST HAPPENED ON DEGRASSI! If you get what I’m saying.

What else can I say about this nerdfighter? Her last name is BEEEEEP, and her address is BEEEEP. Now go stalk her ;).

I will now end this post with a picture of the previously mentioned dawg.
Yes that is how she always looks. Her style is very simular to the robbers in the movies, or she is goth, I’m not sure which.

p.s. new page! hit it up!

It is: What is your favorite creature?
Mine is my cat Grissom at the moment, seeing he is tired and sleepy and cute!
The featured commenter from before is Marissa of course, since this post is about her! (her favorite food was Italian)
